Iberá — the great return of life
4K aerial footage of the Iberá Park
In the northeast of Argentina, in the province of Corrientes, the Esteros del Iberá form one of the largest and richest wetland ecosystems on the planet. Over 700,000 hectares of lagoons, flooded grasslands and waterways where wildlife reaches an exceptional density. A territory long isolated, now at the heart of one of the most ambitious conservation projects in the world.
Since the 1990s, Rewilding Argentina, the organisation founded by Christine Tompkins, has been working to restore this extraordinary territory. Species by species, the park has seen the return of animals that had disappeared for decades — the jaguar leading the way, absent for over 70 years before being reintroduced as part of a pioneering programme. The Gran Iberá is today a world reference for rewilding.
The park is private. Gaining access to film there is a privilege few productions have been granted. The footage in this collection was shot by HOPE Production on a DJI Inspire 2 drone in 4K, capturing species and landscapes up close, in exceptional lighting and access conditions.
