Yann Arthus-Bertrand Collection

Beautiful Pakistan

Yann Arthus-Bertrand reveals timeless ans majestic images of this land of contrasts, such as the spectacular Indus Valley surrounded with snowy peaks, where yak caravans slowly spread on the crests. But he also plainly unveils the exhausting work of million of women and men all over the country, wether dismantling ships on Gadani beaches or working on polluted dye sites of Punjab. These images give its full potential to a country with cultural and geographical immense riches also facing a problematic galloping demography issue, its development index being one of the lowest in Asia. Since its creation in 1947, Pakistan maintains tense relations with India, particularly concerning rival territorial aims on Kashmir. The country never got to know stability.
