Reference : FR1500-YB004508

Wide shots of Île de la Cité, close-ups of Notre-Dame Cathedral towers, façade, rose window and transept. Zoom in, zoom out.
Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, is the most visited monument in France. Located in the historic center of Paris at the tip of Île de la Cité, its construction began in the Middle Ages. Work started in the 13th century and was completed in the 15th century. Severely damaged during the French Revolution, the cathedral underwent restoration in the 19th century under architect Viollet-le-Duc. Numerous visitors admire the stained glass windows and rose windows, the towers, the spire and gargoyles. They can also discover the Notre-Dame Treasury and attempt to climb the towers for a panoramic view of Paris. In 2013, Notre-Dame celebrates its 850th anniversary. On the occasion of this jubilee, numerous events are organized and the cathedral renews its bell heritage with the arrival of eight new bells and a new bourdon. France's road distances are calculated from point zero, located on the cathedral forecourt.
