Description
Esterel was born 250 million years ago. First attached to Africa, this land separates during the formation of the Mediterranean. During the Tertiary, a section of Esterel drifts away, Corsica is born! Some mornings, you can even see it in the distance from the heights.
The rugged terrain and steep creeks plunging into the Mediterranean reflect this turbulent geological history and provide surprising and varied landscapes. The Estérel, between the Mediterranean and Provence, represents a 32 000 ha massif, half of which is classified Nature 2000 » zone.
