Views of the Angkor temples in the heart of the forest. Angkor is an archaeological site, a group of ruins and hydrolic layouts that used to be one of the Khmer Empire capitals, between the IX and XV centuries.
These ruins are located in the forests north of Tonlé Sap, on the shore of Siem Reap city. They have been ranked as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1992 and attract more than a million visitors a year, hence being the major touristic attraction of the country
